SPRING - Competitive Season

Program Duration: February through July, 2026
Regular Registration Cost: $825 - no change from 2025 (100% used to cover costs for field permits, uniforms, umpires, equipment, JBO fees)

About Spring Ball

Teams are formed based on tryouts (in February/March) to create the most competitive teams at various skill levels. These teams will participate in the Junior Baseball Organization (JBO https://www.juniorbaseballorg.com/) schedule with additional opportunities to play in weekend tournaments.  Spring is more competitive than Fall, and players are expected to attend all practices and games.

Registration for Spring ball occurs in Jan/Feb.  An email announcement for registration will be sent out to all GYB families for sign up. 


FALL - Developmental Season 

Registration Status: Closed
Program Duration:  September and October, 2026


About Fall Ball 
Registration Cost - $275 for 2025 (depends on cost of field permits, umpires, uniforms, etc)

Teams are generally divided between rising 8th graders (returning GYB players) and incoming 6th and 7th graders who have graduated Little League. We do not hold tryouts for the Fall. Instead, we rely on incoming Little League volunteers and returning coaches to divide the teams so that we can play against other local teams.

Games start in September. Teams plays up to 2 games per week at local fields through the end of October. There will be some opportunities to practice either during the week or on the weekends.  

There are typically four or five GYB Fall Ball teams. These teams play each other, as well as games against other area teams (West Portland, Mount Hood Select, Centennial, and more).

Registration for Fall Ball is open through late August. An email announcement for registration is sent out to all GYB families for sign up.
